ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Nelia Sheiko-Medvedyeva is a Ukrainian writer, playwright, and poet. She was born in the city of Boryslav in the Lviv region of Ukraine to a Lemko family who was resettled from Poland. She graduated from the Philology Department of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. She is the author of four novels, more than 40 children’s tales, poetry collections published in periodicals in Ukraine and Poland, and numerous articles on contemporary drama and theater. She lives in Kyiv, Ukraine.

“Roads of Stone” is the author’s first book about the lost Lemko region: the fate of those who, as a result of post-war deportations, found themselves in the USSR and had to get used to their new homeland.
